With the holidays right around the corner, we want to find out what Lemon Street Gallery and Artspace has going on, so we reached out to executive Director Shelby Nesmith.
Q. Does Lemon Street have any special promotions or events planned for the upcoming holiday season?
A. Yes! We have Artistree going on from Nov 25th – Dec 24th, an exhibition where we turn our brick gallery into a winter wonderland full of handmade gifts by local artists. We will also have a “Café, Crafting, and Christmas” event on Dec 9th from 11-9 pm where we will have free scheduled crafts, a local coffee shop pop-up, and raffles for artwork made by Lemon Street artists. We are also running a special on gift certificates: if you purchase $50 or more in gift certificates, you get a free Lemon Street Gallery mug!
Q. What are some of the most popular holiday products or services Lemon Street offers?
A. People love to give gift certificates for art classes. Nothing better than giving the gift of a new skill!
Q. Are there any unique holiday traditions or customs associated with Lemon Street?
A. We host our annual Artistree show and offer free hot cocoa/tea as you shop.
Q. What is one of your favorite holiday memories? Or the best gift you’ve ever received?
A. My favorite holiday memory is when I was a kid, I would come downstairs on Christmas day and my mom would leave “Santa foot prints” using fake snow and boots. She always took an extra step to make the holidays special.
Q. Do you have any tips for finding the perfect holiday gift?
A. I always take a second to think about a past conversation that I had with the person to see if I remember a small detail or interest that was brought up. If not, then I find something that reminds me of them or captures their energy.
Q. What are the best ways for customers to stay updated on your holiday hours and offerings?
A. Best way to stay up to date is our social media and our website.
Q. What does Lemon Street Gallery and ArtSpace have in store for 2024?
A. We have SO much lined up for 2024 as it will be our 25th anniversary. Make sure to follow along on social media as we post updates on wonderful events and classes!
Q. What do you love about the holiday season in Downtown Kenosha?
A. I love the downtown lights and how cozy the downtown area feels with a light (emphasis on light) layer of snow.
Q. Inquiring minds want to know, are you on the naughty or nice list?
A. I would have to say that I am somewhere in between: not an angel but my mom isn’t ashamed of me.
