Celebrate Our Nation At Kenosha’s Lakefront Always a wonderful day for the city, the 2016 Kenosha Civic Veterans’ Parade will be held on Sunday, July 3rd. The Kenosha Civic Veterans’ Parade has been entertaining thousands of people for more than 40 years with award-winning marching bands, floats, unique performance groups and more. The parade steps off at 1 p.m. and has a theme of “A Star Spangled Celebration.” The parade begins at 1 p.m. at 22nd Avenue and 63rd St., travels north to 60th Street before heading east to Library Park, rounds the south end of the park to Sixth Avenue and travels north to 50th Street. July 15: Zootopia From the largest elephant to the smallest shrew, the city of Zootopia is a mammal metropolis where various animals live and thrive. When Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) becomes the first rabbit to join the police force, she quickly learns how tough it is to enforce the law. Determined to prove herself, Judy jumps at the opportunity to solve a mysterious case. Unfortunately, that means working with Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman), a wily fox who makes her job even harder. On Sunday, July 17th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., come down to the Kenosha Public Museum and Civil War Museum grounds for the Friends of the Museum Art Fair, now in its 52nd year! In 2013, the Friends of the Museum moved this time-honored tradition from the beautiful Simmons Library Park to the spacious harbor side museum grounds located at 5500 1st Avenue. 

The Kingfish are hosting a one of a kind, unique baseball event the day before the Northwoods League All-Star Game: the Northwoods League Home Run Derby at the Harbor. Featuring the top NWL sluggers launching baseballs into lake Michigan. NWL All-Stars will be partaking in a baseball first as they participate in a home run derby on water. Gates for the Home Run Derby at the Harbor will open at 5:30 p.m. with the derby beginning at 7:30 p.m.  VIP admission: $50.  General admission: $10.

The award-winning Taste of Wisconsin festival is quickly approaching and the event organizers are hoping you have saved your appetites! August 5: Tomorrowland Whenever Casey Newton (Britt Robertson) touches a lapel pin with the letter T on it, she finds herself transported to Tomorrowland, a city filled with huge robots and sleek buildings. The gifted young woman recruits the help of scientist Frank Walker (George Clooney), a previous visitor to Tomorrowland, who years ago made a startling discovery about the future. August 12: Goosebumps Upset about moving from the big city to a small town, young Zach Cooper (Dylan Minnette) finds a silver lining when he meets his beautiful neighbor Hannah (Odeya Rush). The teen is surprised to learn that Hannah's mysterious father is R.L. Stine (Jack Black), the famous author of the best-selling "Goosebumps" series. Rugged maniac is returning to Wilmot Mountain with 25 epic obstacles and 1 rockin' party. Kenosha's third annual grilled cheese/mac and cheese invitational returns as a two day festival. Wisconsin's premiere carnival comes to Kenosha.  Located at the Job Center on 85th St. & Sheridan Rd. Considered in a class of its own, Rainbow Valley continues to maintain the highest industry standard in safety, cleanliness and rideability.  Partial proceeds will go to the sharing center.  Hours of Carnival: Thursday May 11 (5-10 pm) Friday May 12 (5-10 pm) Saturday May 13 (Noon-10 pm) Sunday May 14 (Noon-Closing)
