Celebrate Our Nation At Kenosha’s Lakefront
Always a wonderful day for the city, the 2016 Kenosha Civic Veterans’ Parade will be held on Sunday, July 3rd. The Kenosha Civic Veterans’ Parade has been entertaining thousands of people for more than 40 years with award-winning marching bands, floats, unique performance groups and more. The parade steps off at 1 p.m. and has a theme of “A Star Spangled Celebration.” The parade begins at 1 p.m. at 22nd Avenue and 63rd St., travels north to 60th Street before heading east to Library Park, rounds the south end of the park to Sixth Avenue and travels north to 50th Street. For more parade information, visit www.kenoshaevents.com. After enjoying the parade, stroll down to our beautiful lakefront and enjoy Celebrate America, already in progress. This year, the festivities kick off at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 2nd, with great entertainment on the main stage. Presented by the City of Kenosha, Happenings Magazine and its many generous sponsors, the continuous, nonstop fun begins at 11 a.m. on both the 3rd and 4th and culminates the night of the 4th with a fabulous fireworks display sponsored by Festival Foods. One of the past years’ favorite events, the Pier Pups, will be returning, as well as over 20 local restaurants and vendors dishing out tasty foods, Rainbow Valley carnival rides, the Action Territory Kids’ Zone, and FIVE stages of live entertainment, including a performanc by the Kids From Wisconsin, along with the popular water ski show in the harbor.
