Shop local, Support Local – Dawn’s Style

Supporting & shopping local at Dawn’s Style is one of the many ways that you can give back to the community.

In todays climate small businesses need you more than ever,  In this series of Q&A’s we get to know some of the local business owners and what their businesses have to offer.

Dawn Bella, Dawn’s Style, 633 58th Street

Q.How did you get the idea or concept for the business?
A. After working in hair salons for over 40 years, and renting chairs inside salons in Downtown Kenosha for 10 years it was only natural that I try my own place. I never wanted to be a boss. So, instead of other stylists, I decided to use the rest of my space for retail.

Q. What products and services do you offer?
A. I cut, style, color, perm, and facial wax behind the chair. The hair products I retail are Moroccanoil, Paul Mitchell, 1821. Other retail is Lampe Berger, PEEPERS, jewelry, scarves, sweaters, and ever-changing boutique items.

Q. What do you love about Downtown Kenosha?
A. I am a Kenosha girl!  Have always lived here and my mom and dad have operated local businesses here all my life. I never wanted to move from Kenosha. I ride my bike to work spring-fall. I eat, drink, and shop downtown Kenosha. It’s easy, friendly and affordable. We have a small town feeling in a medium size city.

Q. How would you describe your business to potential customers?
A. Three-quarters boutique, with one-quarter of the space for personal hair styling by me

Q. What do you offer that stands out from other shops?
A. Personal attention. It is ME. I do everything involved with your salon experience. I sell Lampe Berger. I am the only one in the area and I carry many fragrances and new merchandise that Lampe Berger offers – stop in and see our new, fresh fragrances!
