Q. How did you get your idea or concept for the business?
A. My passion for Christmas decorating was the initial motivation behind starting the business. I’ve always loved the holidays and it was common for me to decorate a dozen or so trees in my own house at Christmas time. I finally decided to make my creations available and began selling on the local craft show circuit before getting the idea to open our own shop and avoid all the traveling and hauling issues.
Q.What products and services do you provide?
A. Here at The Pine Blossom we have an assortment of products ranging from locally handcrafted home décor items and jewelry, to refurbished furniture pieces, seasonal displays, and even carry a line of women’s retail clothing which I’ve picked out myself. I’ve carefully chosen over 20 talented, local consignors who sell their unique items with us and give our shop an eclectic mix of handmade goods that you won’t find at any retail stores. I also offer my decorating services for home events, weddings, and just about any occasion that calls for a decorator’s touch.
Q. What do you love about Downtown Kenosha?
A. First and foremost we love the people! The Downtown Kenosha community welcomed us with open arms three years ago and the support we have received from day one has been amazing. We have made many lasting friendships with customers, business owners, community leaders and even neighbors who reside near our shop. The downtown area has so much to offer with its beautiful lakefront, awesome dining establishments, unique shopping options, and activities galore, but it’s the people of this great community who make it all work.
Q. How would you describe your business to potential customers?
A. The Pine Blossom is the kind of shop where everyone who walks in is treated like an old friend. We believe the customer is looking for unique, affordable, well-made items and that’s exactly what we provide. Our shop motif changes with the seasons to constantly keep the atmosphere fresh and new and interesting for all those who visit us. Our Christmas displays have to be seen to be believed!
Q.What do you offer that stands out from other shops?
A. We offer a cozy, inviting atmosphere that encourages the shopper to stay awhile and enjoy the lovely scents, sounds, and sights while perusing the vast array of unique items we provide. What sets us apart is the personal connections we’ve made with our visitors that keep them coming back to see us time and time again. We strive to make sure the people coming through our door aren’t just customers but friends as well.
