How long have you been bartending at Captain Mike’s?
Jayla: 1 year.
Brandon: 7 years.
What do you love about bartending?
Jayla: The creativity, the artistry, and freedom I get to do with the cocktails and the different beers.
Brandon: People, and making cocktails.
Favorite band you’ve seen at Captain Mike’s?
Jayla & Brandon: Ivy Ford!
What do you love about Downtown Kenosha?
Jayla: The ‘family’ atmosphere with the other Downtown Kenosha service industry employees.
Brandon: The Lake.
What is your favorite cocktail to make?
Jayla: Traditional Old Fashioned.
Brandon: Irish Coffee.
What’s your favorite meal at Captain Mike’s?
Jayla: Wings – with Mike’s Sauce.
Brandon: Mac and Cheese.
What’s the best advice you’ve received while behind the bar?
Jayla: Do not take everything so literal – keep it moving – brush things off.
Brandon: You can’t drink all day if you don’t start in the morning — also, shots on Tony!
Tell us your best bar joke?
Jayla: What’s the boob’s favorite snack? Chest Nuts
Brandon: Why did the Little Mermaid wear seashells? Because she didn’t fit into D shells.
What is your favorite drink?
Jayla: New England IPA – I love my IPAs.
Brandon: Aperol Spritz.
Know any bar tricks?
Jayla: No – Not at all! But I’ll learn!
Brandon: Bar dancing? Is that a trick? Or maybe it’s a treat!
Strangest tip you’ve ever gotten?
Jayla: Origami Elephant, and a Jesus card from a pastor.
Brandon: Popeye’s Chicken coupon that had expired.
