Holiday Memories w/ Dino, Owner of Sturino’s Italian Restaurant

The holidays are always very important to small businesses and to show our support we decided to find out what is going on this holiday season at Sturino’s (1543 22nd Avenue) as we sit down with owner Dino Sturino for this exclusive holiday Q&A.

How is your business prepared for the holiday season?
Christmas village decorations in the windows.

Is your business doing anything special for the holidays this year?
We will offer a special New Year’s Eve menu.

What is your favorite holiday memory growing up in Kenosha?
Our big Sturino family Christmas meals.

What is your fondest holiday memory?
In 1972, I came home on leave from serving in the US Navy near Sicily. After being away from home it made me so happy to be home for Christmas.

Where would your family shop for the holidays when you were a kid?
My family shopped for clothing at Barden’s, and we always went to Tenuta’s for the special Italian foods.

What is the best holiday gift you ever received?
The gift of family after serving overseas was the best of all gifts.

What is the worst holiday gift you ever received?
The too-small socks were the worst gift.

Do you think you’re on Santa’s nice list or naughty list this year?
We hope to be on Santa’s nice list with our $9.95 blue plate specials which help our customers stretch those dollars.
