On April 11, Downtown Kenosha lost one of its long-time advocates of the area in Frank Trecroci. Since 2000,
Frank had been a mainstay on 56th St, owning Trecroci Realty along with family members; Mark,Stephanie and Benjamin. Before Trecroci Realty set up shop Downtown, Frank had his hand in a number of projects and visions in Downtown. In the 80’s & 90’s, he was instrumental in bringing business back to the area by buying up buildings which had been in desperate need of tenants. Frank along with business partner, the late Ralph Nudi Sr filled up those buildings, including one of the first tanning salons in Kenosha with The Tannery, as well as The Gazebo Antique Mall, Laura’s Kitchen,Zion Cookie Company, among others.
In 1987, Frank brought back the extremely popular ‘Scoop the Loop’ classic car cruise event to Downtown, bringing in a huge crowd and tons of AMC and other muscle cars.
Over the years, Frank was always pushing for new developments as a member of BID (Business Improvement District) to the area and would regularly attend city meetings and was so excited to see such things as Harbor Marina,Harbor Park,The Public and Civil War Museums and the Streetcar become realities.
As Downtown began to transition in the early part of the 2000s, Frank was an integral part of its development into what we see today. He was part of nearly 85% of all commercial sales in the area, including such businesses as Wine Knot, Tavern on 6th,
Frank’s office was always open to anyone who wanted to know anything about Downtown and Kenosha. He always had time, especially when he was talking about his beloved Downtown Kenosha.
And now, just as it’s been since 2000, Trecroci Realty will remain open as Frank’s family will continue his legacy and make him proud and to always push Downtown Kenosha first!
