Jodi Diderrich Talks The Jungle Book at the Rhode

If you’re looking for the perfect event in the perfect location to mark the end of summer break, then you are looking for the upcoming production of The Jungle Book at the Rhode Theater in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The show, a live presentation of The Jungle Book, will be performed on the weekends of August 13th, 14th, and 15th and August 20th, 21st, and 22nd. Friday and Saturday evening shows will start at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees will start at 2:00 p.m.

Taking your family to the Rhode Theater for a show is the perfect family activity for many reasons, not the least of which is the beautiful architecture. Walking in, you are welcomed byglistening chandeliers hanging from a lofty, ornate ceiling. Antique, storied tiles cover the walls and the floor as you make your way to the concession stand where the aroma of freshly made popcorn draws you in, relaxing you, preparing you for the magic of live theater. A smiling usher takes your ticket and instructs you to enjoy the show, and somehow you know you will.

The amazingly talented cast of The Jungle Book will take you into the jungles of India, where a baby, Mowgli, pursued by Shere Khan, a vicious tiger, stumbles upon a pack of wolves, that takes him in. These wolves, along with a loving old bear and a wise panther, raise him and protect him for thirteen summers. When he suddenly finds the pack is no longer able to protect him, he is forced to face Shere Khan on his own, which he does with the courage of a wolf and the pride of a man.

Tickets for the show can be purchased for $10.00 at rhodecenter.org If the show is not sold out, tickets can also be purchased at the door. The Rhode Theater is located at 514 56th Street, Kenosha, Wisconsin. See you there! :Submitted by Jodi Diderrich, Director.
