Let’s take a stroll through some of the developments that are happening as of February 2025. Right now, the one that you most likely have noticed is the future home of The Karrick, a five-story 158 apartment complex on the northwest corner of 56th & 7th Ave (formerly Chase Bank drive through) which is currently closed to traffic from 8th Ave to 54th St. The Karrick is expected to be completed by January 2026 and is the first phase as part of a broader nine block radius (from Sheridan Road to Lake Michigan between 52nd and 56th Streets) development project which is scheduled to have a market hall, retail spaces, hotel, office buildings and a total of possibly up to 1,000 housing units.
